I listened to respond, not to hear the other person out. I let the bias of how I felt about that person get in the way of my communication. I would recommend following the steps we learned here. Listen carefully to hear the other persons point of view pause to gather thoughts and then contribute something productive to the situation.
When I worked in healthcare critical thinking was important to finding out what test to run in order to find a diagnosis. I now use critical thinking to help determine career paths for my clients.
I think a precise agenda that allows everyone to share their opinions, goals, ideas, with a plan of how to narrow down those options would be very helpful in this situation.
