The biggest challenge has been getting consumers to understand that each job has an agenda, a purpose and a goal. So many people seem to think there are jobs with little to no job description. In other words, believed to be the "easy jobs" that require no skill, understanding or preparation. i have learned to be much more creative in my teachings and introduction to job skills and preparation.
Plan prior to any meeting
When dealing with a diverse group of stakeholders I provide an agenda and have often times requested questions and concerns prior to the meeting. This offers me an opportunity to be better prepared.
I received an invitation to community event. The invitation provided time, place, attire and purpose, it did not include materials needed. Many of us arrived without materials and felt awkward.
From this experience I have learned to communicate with my co-workers and take time to follow up before attending outside events.
I would say my most recent use of critical thinking would be when preparing to utilize "zoom". Most people assumed others had the means and knowledge to participate in zoom events such as meetings, classes, and general office communication gathers via the internet.
It took time for us to learn we should not assume, we needed to take time to evaluate co-workers access and knowledge before scheduling a zoom meeting.
