Challenges in recruiting individuals with not only the necessary KSA's but also offering wages to reflect the cost of living of today's economy & keeping those qualified and motivated individuals. Success would include a client/potential customer motivated and driven to follow thru with training, education needed for specific jobs.
Communication challenge that occurred was via email. In hindsight, I would prefer to schedule a phone meeting or at least some time of f2f communication. Sometimes, email does not convey the necessary information and one's tone can be misintrepreted.
Let me just say that assuming someone can read your mind never works in any situation! So with that in mind, I try to communicate as effectively as possible and when in doubt, ask questions! Make sure not only that you understand but that you are also being understood.
I have used critical thinking when evaluating and analyzing working with clients, especially helpful in creating/establishing treatment plans, determining best modality to use with client and preparation for discharge are a few examples when critical thinking is essential.
Providing the agenda ahead of time if at all possible, if not, then definitely distribute at beginning of a meeting.
Practice active listening. Don't assume anything! Keep meeting on task to avoid getting off topic. Have a clear idea of desired outcome of the meeting.
